Professional Development Meeting

Equal Pay Day commemorates the day into the new year that women must work in order to earn the same amount of money that their male counterparts were paid during the previous year. Please join us to raise awareness about this disparity and learn what you can do to help move this issue forward!
Wear red to the luncheon to symbolize how women often "see red" when they open their purses and find less money than they should because of wage discrimination! Equal work deserves equal pay!

Robin Hassler Thompson, M.A., J.D., is Chair of the Tallahassee/Leon County Commission on the Status of Women and Girls. In 2013, the Commission sponsored the first local Women and the Workplace Summit, which focused on women’s economic security and other workplace issues. Robin served as the Executive Director for Florida’s first Task Force on Domestic and Sexual Violence from 1993-1998, and at the request of the U. S. Department of Justice, she served on the National Advisory Council on Violence Against Women.

This is a time for BPW members to get connected, and learn what to do to make BPW successful.
This event benefits all BPW members who want to learn more about our organization and meet awesome members from around the state.
More specifically, this is a time for state and local organization (LO) officers and committee chairs/members to gain understanding about their responsibilities and duties.
We will provide training for incoming LO officers and committee members on the duties of each position and committee.
We will enjoy a teambuilding exercise focusing on how to incorporate “Communicate, Collaborate, and Connect” into your LO agenda and create a positive, empowering atmosphere to build membership in 2014-2015.
